New Year’s Eve is honestly one of my favorite holidays. There’s just something about starting fresh and having a clean slate — plus staying up all night, which I do all the time anyway. My resolutions in the past have always been sort of concrete, like, get all As in school, run a half marathon, do a better strength work out. Last year, my goals were to post one photo a day on Instagram (which I accomplished!), and write a blog post at least once a week (which I didn’t really do after March or so).
Needless to say, it’s been a while. My first few weeks here were stupid busy and, obviously, I kind of missed a few weekly blog posts. But I did still keep up with my daily Instagram posts, so there’s that!
My friends Janee and Sarah came to visit me the last weekend of March/beginning of April. We hung out in Baltimore for two nights, and explored some areas of town I had yet to venture out to — Fells Point, Inner Harbor and the National Aquarium, and Canton. We had planned to go to Philadelphia for a day, but the person we had booked our housing with turned out to most likely be a scam, so we just decided to stay in Baltimore for the day instead. I think this worked out best for us, as driving to Philadelphia would have ended up with too much time driving and not enough time actually exploring.

Seriously this past week has been hectic. Packing, driving, moving, staying in sketchy hotels, and a whoooole slew of crazy once I actually got to Baltimore.
I’m too exhausted to post anything substantial but here’s all the photos I posted over the past week. Hopefully next week I can entertain you guys more.
Chillin like a Nashvillain 😎
Happy birthday to one of my best friends @angiemclarke 🎈 thanks for always being down to adventure with me, from tent rocks in New Mexico to waterfalls in Iceland and everywhere in between ❤️
First stop on the road trip to my next travel nurse assignment in Baltimore! ❤️
Well I wish *I* was this comfy and relaxed during our 10/11 hour road trip today 😒
First night in my new city has been an ADVENTURE to say the least. Involving unanswered phone calls, one way streets at night, a sketchy motel, and the kindness of one amazing stranger nurse opening her home up to me and Sunny for the night. Long story short — I made it!
Home sweet Maryland home 🏡 #maddieinbmore
Traditional first day of my travel assignment pic featuring Sunny strategically hiding my awful ID picture 😉 First day of contract #3 dunzooooo
Tuesday, we woke up a little later than originally planned because of campervan drunkenness. One of the challenges of Iceland in winter is limited daytime hours, so we had planned to be up and driving to the D3 plane crash while it was still dark, so that way we could arrive at the actual site right when […]
I had much bigger plans for this Monday. Aaron and I have had a flight booked to the Caribbean for months. Unfortunately, Aaron started feeling sick on Saturday, and he hasn’t gotten much better. We’re pretty sure he has the flu. He feels (and looks) like shit. I asked him this morning if he wanted to cancel our trip, since he’s been miserable all weekend and hasn’t been able to be comfortable for, like, more than an hour. Long story short, we are not on a flight to the Caribbean, Aaron has been drugged up beyond belief (in a good way) and is now laying in bed with the pup, and I’m out here binge watching That 70s Show and working on my blog.
We picked up our campervan from CampEasy Iceland and we were off! Thingvellir National Park (website) Our first stop! We didn’t spend too much time here, which was a mistake on our part. We were just too excited to get started on the road trip, see everything else on the list, and had limited day-time hours […]
